Celebrated new year with my parents, colleagues, collegemates, etc.
Read about new year hungama across the world.
Heard the new year wishes over the phone, text messages, emails etc.
This NEW YEAR 2009 is of different kind.
I was in Australia for my Postgraduate program, did not have any plans for new year. But went to CBD / Flinders Street / Federation Square (known to all people in Australia). Enjoyed the fireworks performance by the Gov. for the people of Australia in a centralized location which is visible to all.
One was @ 9:15PM in the banks of Yarra River (both sides),
Second one was @ !@:!% AM (guess the timing) the same above and also another open space near Federation Square.
People were allowed to travel free after 6pm between both zones - no ticket, no validation, nothing. Same free travel was offered on 24th and 25th Dec '08. On the Christmas day and Christmas Eve. That was 48 hours of non stop travel.
